Accomplishments

Ms. Kirn is a ground-breaking mediator and arbitrator; she conducted the first arbitration pursuant to the new arbitration provision in the Madison County Realtor's contract as well as the first mortgage foreclosure mediation in Madison County. She continues to be a popular mediator/arbitrator for those programs. She is a tireless advocate for the mediation process and will not stop urging the parties towards settlement until no stone is left unturned.

Ms. Kirn uses her background as a litigator and in-house counsel to delve deeply into the fact and law of the dispute to discover where the possible areas of disagreement are and, more importantly, where the areas of agreement are. Her areas of experience include: employment, real estate, personal injury, commercial and education including special education.

She has published numerous legal articles on the subjects of mediation, employee misconduct, sexual harassment, privacy in the workplace and the use of alternative dispute resolution in real estate disputes. She has spoken on mediation topics, not only in the St. Louis metropolitan area, but throughout the country. She has taught Business Law and Ethics to university senior business school students.
