Accomplishments

John (Jay) McCauley is an honors graduate of Harvard Law School, a former litigation partner of a large, International law firm, and a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has taught Arbitration Law over the last decade at Pepperdine, Loyola, University of Missouri - Kansas City and Creighton Law Schools. He is contributing author of the third edition of the College of Commercial Arbitrators Guide to Best Practices in Arbitration. He has been listed as a California Super Lawyer and has been included in Best Lawyers in America, in the field of ADR, which named him "Best Lawyer of the Year" in the field of Mediation for the San Jose, California region in 2013, and for the Omaha, Nebraska region in 2015. He has been a commercial arbitrator with the national roster of the American Arbitration Association since 1998, where he serves on the Large Complex Case, Commercial, Real Estate and Construction, Employment and Healthcare Panels. He has also recently been appointed to the Roster of International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR). In the past decade, he has been appointed to serve as an arbitrator on more than 130 significant matters, including multiple major matters ranging in value from $10 million to more than $100 million.
