FEE SCHEDULE
UNITED STATES ARBITRATION & MEDIATION MIDWEST, INC. (St. Louis, Missouri), offers mediation and arbitration services as follows:
The initiating party should provide United States Arbitration & Mediation Midwest (hereafter, "USA&M") with pertinent information about the case. Case transmittal forms are available for this purpose, and can be obtained by calling .
USA&M will thereafter send information to the designated parties and follow up by telephone. Mediations and arbitrations will be conducted in accordance with the published rules in effect at the time of case submission.
Fees
For each designated case that agrees to mediate or arbitrate, USA&M charges an administrative fee of $200 per party. Parties are defined as those needing separate legal counsel and/or a separate insurance company representative. There is no charge for cases when a necessary party declines to participate, except as described below.
Mediator and arbitratortime is charged at the rate $175-275 per hour. They are entitled to compensation for all time spent on the case, including preparation time, telephone time, attendance at the mediation session or arbitration hearing, follow up, and travel time. Travel time is billed at $75-175 per hour, and automobile mileage is charged at 30 cents per mile. A portion of the hourly rate is retained by USA&M as part of its administrative charges.
USA&M is entitled to reimbursement for any extraordinary administrative expenses (such as long-distance telephone or overnight mail charges). Mediators and arbitrators may estimate long-distance telephone charges at 40 cents per minute.
When a case is withdrawn after a mediator or arbitrator has reserved a date for the hearing, he/she is entitled to request a minimum 2-hour cancellation fee.
Billing
Unless payment is requested in advance of the hearing date, fees and costs will be invoiced at the conclusion of the proceeding unless it appears that the case will continue more than thirty (30) days beyond the initial session, in which case a partial bill will be sent. Responsability for fees is worked out on a case-by-case basis; fees are usually divided equally between the parties, although payment of all fees by one side is not unusual.
This fee schedule applies to cases recieved by our office on or after March 1, 1997. Fees may be modified, in the discretion of USA&M, for volume caseload programs, and are subject to change without notice.
